Maternity Style: Shopbop

Dear Readers,

I’m excited to debut a new series on the style letters, Maternity Style! In addition to my own style posts and mama must-haves, I’ll be reviewing a brand or boutique each month that offers great maternity clothes for all budgets. This month, I’m sharing my current favorites from Shopbop.

the style letters: Maternity Style: Shopbop

Rosie Pope Long Sleeve Sylvie Maternity Top: You know I love a good striped top, and this is such a great length for maternity leggings and dark skinnies. You can wear this one year round. Bonus? The ruching calls attention to a cute little bump.

Hatch Bateau Top: The boxy fit is perfect with slim black pants or weekend denim. The soft terrycloth is a dream, too.

Splendid Light and Fashionable Tank: I adore the simplicity of this piece, and it makes for the perfect light layer under fitted blazers and cardigans.

Paige Denim Skyline Ankle Peg Maternity Jeans: I’ve been living in these for the past month and will most likely continue long after Baby Mac makes his/her arrival. (Judge away, guys, judge away. The minute you wear maternity pants and realize the many benefits of elastic waistbands, you’ll never go back.) They’re incredibly flattering and have just the right amount of stretch. I recommend buying them true to size. I have my eye on their Transcend Verdugo Ultra Skinny Jean next.

Rosie Pope Audra Maternity Dress: You can’t go wrong with a LBD, and the soft jersey of this option drapes beautifully. Long sleeves and delicate pleats at the shoulders add a subtle elegance and work from office to event in a snap.

Kate Spade New York Stevie Baby Bag: Full disclosure: I’ve wanted a Kate Spade baby bag before procreation was up for discussion. Although this is a big investment piece, it also makes for a great travel bag down the road and is so easy to clean on the go.

I would love to hear where you’ve shopped for maternity clothes and/or any places you’d like me to review on the blog! Send me an email at thestyleletters@gmail.com or leave a comment below. Thanks so much for sharing!

YES! I have the Stevie Baby Bag and I LOVE it! Seriously makes me feel fashionable even when changing diapers. I got most of my maternity clothes from Pea in a Pod, Gap Maternity, and Seraphine (particularly for dressier items, like my shower dress and Jump Back Ball dress). Can’t wait to see how you’re dressing that cute bump!

Jen, I would love to hear your favorites from those stores – where do you find the best leggings, maxi dresses, tops? I want to feel as much like myself as possible with this changing body of mine, but it’s such a challenge – anything too tight makes me feel self-conscious and anything too baggy makes me feel larger than I am. Any recommendations you have for specific items, I’d love to hear them! You always looked so cute when you were pregnant!

You’re very sweet! I loved the leggings from Pea in a Pod and also thought their designer jean collection was great (eventually you will be glad to buy things with a full panel and almost all of their stuff has that). I agree with you on fit being tough, especially in the early days. I wore a lot of my non-maternity sweater dresses well into T-2. At Gap, I loved their tees and sweaters. Seraphine was my go-to for dressy stuff. My general rule was that if I wouldn’t wear it not pregnant, I wouldn’t buy it. You look fab and will continue to, I’m sure!

These are awesome tips – thank you so much! I just spent half an hour on A Pea in a Pod’s website and want everything. EVERYTHING. I’m definitely going to give their leggings a go, as I feel like the Gap options are too sheer – not the best material long-term.

  • Yes!! I want a Kate Spade baby bag whenever I have a baby. It’s chic and the black and white one will match anything.

Brittany, if there’s ever an excuse to get another Kate Spade bag, this is it! 🙂
