Bloggers Who Budget: Winter Layers

Dear Readers,

As I write this, it’s a balmy 27 degrees in Chicago, and I’m staying cozy in this $30 open cardigan from Forever 21. Southwestern patterns and tribal prints will be huge this spring, so I like to think I’m getting a head start on the season as I wrap up in this new favorite.
There’s nothing worse than getting overheated and frantically stripping off layers to cool down, so I choose mine wisely. I prefer heavier cardigans, like this option here, layered over tissue tees or tanks. It’s just the right amount of warmth without the bulk.
Style Now, Style Later: Try an open cardigan in a fun print over a lightweight dress or a tank and shorts on cool spring nights. Very model off-duty.

  • Love the sweater and seriously love/need that necklace!! Perfect.

    • Thank you so much, Jaclyn! I actually went into Forever 21 with the intention of buying a similar cardigan I saw on Cupcakes and Cashmere and ended up falling in love with this one instead. And the necklace…well, I had to. 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Jacqueline! It’s so warm that a thin tee or tank is all I need underneath–best sweater ever!

  • I LOVE that sweater! Can we go shop F21 soon?! I always get too damn overwhelmed and then see everyone with killer pieces like this and suffer from major FOMO. #helpme

    • YES–you name the day/night, and I’m there! I can get easily overwhelmed in there, too, so I try to scope out favorite blogs and the website first to make my shopping list. Let’s do this.
