Style Views: Meet Stephanie

Style Views are back!

the style letters will feature a new interview each month on seasonal fashion and favorite trends, all from the perspectives of some very stylish ladies.

In the first Style View of the year, Stephanie Serati shows us how to dress up — and dress warm — for winter nights out.

How to Dress (Up) For Winter:

Layer Thin: Think lots of warm but thin layers. If there’s anything I hate more in the winter months, it’s feeling like the Michelin Man! Some of my go-to favorites to stay warm and look sleek are tissue turtlenecks, cashmere sweaters, and heat-tech leggings. (UNIQLO has the best heat-tech leggings, and they’re super cheap!)

(Banana Republic Sweater, Jack Vest via Flight Boutique, J.Crew Leggings and Boots, Roman & Sunstone Necklace, kate spade new york Ring and Bangles (Here and Here), Michael Kors Watch, Shiraleah Clutch)

Add a Pop of Color: Nothing warms you up on a chilly day better than a pop of pink! (Or any other color, for that matter.) Sparkly metallics are another great way to brighten up winter blacks and grays.

(Banana Republic Sweater, kate spade new york Skirt, Necklace, and Ring, Cynthia Rowley Boots)

Make a Statement: Whether it’s a punchy pink lip, a chunky pearl necklace, or a romantic ballroom skirt, a big statement piece will be sure to have you looking great even on the coldest of nights!

(J.Crew Sweater, Adrianna Papell Skirt, kate spade new york Coat, Clutch, Necklace, Ring, and Pumps, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fuchsia Fusion)

A special thanks to Stephanie for kicking off this year’s Style Views!

    • Thank you so much, Lindsey! Stephanie is one of the most glamorous people I know, yet she also happens to be very resourceful when it comes to staying warm in this horrible weather! So glad you liked the post!

  • I am in love with that long tulle skirt! I have been on the hunt for one forever!

    • Becky,

Isn’t that skirt amazing?! We didn’t originally plan to use it in the shoot, but the minute she put it on, it was a done deal. 🙂 She bought hers at Nordstrom, I believe.

      Thanks so much for reading!

  • I am also in love with that long tulle skirt. How is that not in my closet already? I also have to get my hands on a pair of the heat-tech leggings. Do you have a UNIQLO by you, M? We want to shop there when we visit.

    • Jess, that skirt has your name all of it! It’s so beautiful in person; I just wanted to keep touching it. I ALSO need a pair of those heat-tech leggings. As far as I know, UNIQLO is only online or in NY, but I think I’m going to order a pair from their website and see how I do. For $13, you can’t lose!

  • So stinking cute! I would love to spend a day in her closet – she’s got so many pretty things! xx

    • Maya, you could literally spend the day in Stephanie’s closet–it is huge and very cozy! She has such great taste. 🙂

Want to do the next one?!

      ~ M ~

  • I love all 3 of these outfits! and the inside of that jacket reminds me of a dress from The Carrie Diaries… LOVE!

    • Jessica,

Doesn’t she look amazing! The best part is that everything is actually really functional for winter nights out–even the tulle skirt works for a super dressy occasion because it covers up so much of your body and keeps the cold out. Love it!

  • LOVE that vest! Glad the series is back xoxo.

    • Nadine,

Doesn’t she have the best style?! No wonder she works in luxury retail. 🙂 I’m so excited to bring it back, too–I missed doing the series the past few months!
